Crimea has been part of Russia for three hundred years. The people in Crimea decided to return to Russia. By the way, England is still occupying seven counties in northern Ireland.

Let's have an intelligent conversation from here now on. Crimea was not annexed; Crimea seceded from Ukraine via a referendum. For what its worth, Crimean Parliament in 2014 voted to hold a referendum. Yanukovych, who was still the president, he signed and approved the referendum request. So far everything was done in accordance with Ukrainian constitution. At a later time, the referendum was held and the will of people was to secede. One can argue about the results of the eferendum, but the Constitutional process was unquestionable, otherwise The Crimean issue would be debated in Hague court. Moreover, the reason international community does not challenge The Referendum results, because everyone understands the new referendum would have the same outcome.

Well, maybe this bridge is a sign of cronyism but cost of the Big Dig in Boston was $24.3B for a tunnel 1.5 miles long.

Oddly enough the living standard of people in Crimea today is significantly higher than people living in Ukraine.

The Boston big dig took over 10 years to complete. This 12 mile bridge is record breaking. The train line will be completed next year. Unbelievable.

If the majority of Crimea people who happen to be Russians want to rejoin Russia, so be it. That's the spirit of democracy, isn't it?

Russian troops did NOT seize Crimea. Although there were by treaty 18,000 Russian troops in Crimea they had no part in the annexation. An annexation that was voted on by the Crimean people and passed overwhelmingly. Contrary to US propaganda it was a fair election as was certified by outside observers. One of the unspoken goals of the fake revolution that was a US sponsored coup was to kick the Russians out of their naval base in Crimea. The Donbass and Lugansk states that broke away from Ukraine and Crimea are mostly of Russian descent and speak Russian and in any national vote would elect a Russian friendly government which the US does not want. We have Ukraine officials and even US congressmen calling for the oppression of these people to drive them into Russia, over a million have, and butcher the rest if they don't go. Crimea might still be part of Ukraine but the last straw for them was when busloads of unarmed Crimean's returning from a protest in Kiev were taken off the buses at the border and most murdered. That and the trade union building in Odessa where they set fire to the building and protesters inside either burned to death or were shot trying to escape the fire. Ukraine also cut off all pensions, banking, food, medicine, electricity to make these people suffer. Ukraine is considered the most corrupt nation on the planet and at the behest of the US the IMF ignored all their rules and is throwing money away trying to keep Ukraine afloat as their economy is in freefall and Ukrainians are leaving for other countries to get jobs to support themselves. Mostly bailing the banks Ukraine owed money too.

Liberals just love to demonize Putin and his great Christian nation. Crimea voted overwhelmingly to leave the Ukraine. It's not like Putin invaded Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, or Syria.
